Founded by the brothers Carney, and named for their family farm in Rappahannock County;, Pen Druid Brewing is born of passion for and experience of local brewing culture across North America and Europe, and matured over nearly a decade of musical travel. Over a year ago, this wisdom came home to the Virginia Piedmont, bringing a focus on mixed and wild fermentation, barrel fermenting and aging, and spontaneous fermentation to the burgeoning Virginia beer scene. Fermenting with a “cocktail of wild yeasts and bacteria” from their own Virginia Piedmont, Pen Druid Brewing takes “local” to a whole new level!
